| Kingsbridge travelled to Ivybridge for their second league game with some hope of putting in a good performance, but this was quickly dashed by a slick Ivybridge side. The home team were able to move the ball at will and with the slope rattled up 24 points in the first 20 minutes. | It was again Kingsbridge’s high penalty count that cost them dear as a kick three minutes from time saw St Ives snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and deprive the Blue and Whites of what would have been their first league victory of the season. |

With a side that showed an incredible 8 changes to the Kingsbridge team that played the final league game of last season, the blue and whites were fully aware that they would face a tough start to their new campaign in the Western Counties (West) league at High House on Saturday. |

| Without any pre-season game, Kingsbridge Colts approached this game against Devonport with a positive attitude. The visitors kicking off started with an aggression that put Devonport on the back foot for the first 20 minutes of the game. Kingsbridge’s rucking was positive and a ball was readily available to use and attack the Devonport line, but some good defence by the home team kept Kingsbridge out. |

Kingsbridge’s final warm up game of the new season saw them come up just short of causing an upset against visiting Paignton from the league above. An extremely encouraging second half fight back saw the hosts claw their way back from a 3-21 half time deficit to get to within just four points of the visitors at the end of the match. |

In this pre season warm up / training match both Clubs fielded large squads of players to enable everyone to have a good run out during the four 20 minute quarters. With both clubs keen to get in as much practice before the start of their respective league campaigns, at the start of September, almost 60 players were used during the sun-baked afternoon at High House. |

| The dramatic storm on Friday night failed to dampen the spirits of the members of Kingsbridge RFC when they held their end of season Annual Dinner and Presentations evening in the Marquee at High House. |

| Their end of season promotion hopes were left in tatters on Saturday when they were soundly beaten in the play off final at Thornbury. |
