After their first season of full pitch, fifteen a side rugby, the U13s were presented with the award for the Team of the Year at the club’s annual President’s Day. The team’s successful season has seen them score 486 points from their eighteen matches played, only losing four games. The highlight of the season was coming runner up in the recent Devon plate final at Plymouth Albion Rugby Club.
Individual awards were made to: James Pearsall (Most Improved player), Oliver Beattie (Best Tackler), Jack West (Player of the Year) and Mgu Taylor (Club Player). All the boys have made significant improvements this year in their personal skills and understanding of the game.
The depth of individual talent within the squad is reflected in nine players being selected to represent South Devon at the Devon Regional Festival: Jack Banfield, Billy Oram, Fred Matthews, Jack West, Isaac Rayworth, Leo Swash, Will Dorey, Harvey Dryburgh and Ollie Beattie. In addition, West, Swash, Rayworth, Oram and James Baker are currently competing for places in the Devon School of Rugby.
